ARK PURUKORUT

ARK purukorut auttavat keskittymään ja vähentävät vaatteiden, kynien, sormien, kynsien ym. haitallista pureskelua ja imeskelyä.

Purukorut sopivat erityisesti ylivilkkaille tai levottomille lapsille ja lapsille joilla on autismia tai ADHD oireita. Valitse lapselle sopivin vahvuusluokka kolmesta vaihtoehdosta:

1. Pehmeä- tarkoitettu lievään varovaiseen pureskeluun/imeskelyyn ja rajoittuneille leukavoimille

2. XT sitkeämpi, keskikova - varovaisesta kohtalaiseen pureskeluun

3. XXT erittäin kova, ja kestävä, kohtalaisesta ahnaaseen/innokkaaseen pureskeluun sopiva

Huomioithan, että purukorut kuluvat eri tavoilla riippuen purennan kovuudesta ja ahnaudesta - toisilla korut voivat kestää ikuisesti ja erittäin kovan ja jäystävän purennan kokeneet korut voivat mennä huonokuntoisiksi lyhyessäkin ajassa - kokeilemalla erilaisia pintoja ja muotoja, löydät lapsellesi sen sopivimman vaihtoehdon - esim. Brick Stick legomallisen purukorun nystyrät pystyy puremaan irti, kun korua purraan voimalla ja hampaat "jäystävät" nystyröitä - silloin kannattaa valita sileämpipintainen XXT koru. Korun valintaan vaikuttaa myös se, pureeko lapsi mielellään etu-, sivu-, vai takahampailla ja minkälaiset leukavoimat lapsella on. ARK Purukorut eivät ole leluja, eikä niitä ole tarkoitettu alle 5- vuotiaille lapsille. Lukko ja nauha eivät sovellu pureskeluun ja niistä voi irrota pieniä osia. Vaikka Ark purukorut on valmistettu kestämään, ne tulevat tiensä päähän ennemmin tai myöhemmin - purennan kovuus ja käytön määrä ym. seikat vaikuttavat purukorun ikään ja kestävyyteen - seuraathan lapsesi purukorun kuntoa säännöllisesti ja vaihdat uuteen, jos korussa alkaa olla pahoja kulumisen jälkiä tai jos siinä on repeämiä. On hyvä tunnistaa purennan kovuus /ahnaus ennen purukorun valintaa - pehmeä purukoru, muotoilustaan riippuen, kuluu hyvinkin nopeasti vahvoissa, jatkuvasti kovaa purevissa leuoissa.

Jokainen koru on lääketieteellisesti hyväksytty, täyttää USA:n ruoka- ja lääkelainsäädännöt, ei sisällä lyijyä, ftalaatteja, PVC:tä (=Polyvinyylikloridi), BPA:ta (=Bisfenoli-A), eikä latexia.

 PURUKORUJEN IKÄSUOSITUS 5-VUODESTA YLÖSPÄIN. Kaulanauhan lukko voi hajotessaan aiheuttaa tukehtumisvaaran - tarkkailethan lapsen purukorun käyttöä.

A customer question for Ark:

"Is there anything to prevent finger nail biting, for me and my son?"

"We do!  A lot of people (both kids and adults) use our chew tools as a safe substitute for nail biting.  We make chewable jewelry (bracelets and necklaces), pencil toppers, and handheld chews.  You could try any of these, but usually our chewelry is best since they're worn and "always there" when you need them.

As far as which necklace design to choose from, the Chew Tags are the thinnest shape.  Since fingernails are pretty thin also, the Chew Tags would be the closest.  

But, oftentimes shape doesn't matter that much here - it's largely preference.  So if your son loves dinosaurs for example, he'd probably like the  Dino-Bite.

For kids, the  Krypto-Bite and Brick Stick are usually the most popular.  For adults, the Krypto-Bite and Saber Tooth are usually the most popular.

When you visit any of the chew pages above, you'll notice that they all come in 3 color-coded toughness levels. Usually the softest/standard level is the best substitute for nail biting, for these reasons:

1.  The tougher XT and XXT options are quite tough (the XXT is not far from being rigid).  These are usually for kids who chew for sensory reasons and can chew through things much tougher than fingernails (chewing holes in shirts regularly, chewing through several pencils a day, etc.).

2.  Nails are very easy to bite through, so even the softest level is much more durable than fingernails.

3.  All of our chews are also much thicker than fingernails, so they'll be much more durable by default.  Even the Chew Tags (the thinnest ones) are 0,762 cm  thick.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CHEW

The range of sensory needs is vast and complex.  What works for one person may not work for the next, so we've created chews in lots of different shapes, sizes, textures, and toughnesses - something for everyone!  For help narrowing down your options:

STEP 1:   Do you chew with your front or back teeth?

Think about how you or your child prefers to chew.  Is it usually with the back molars?  If so, click on the Back Teeth category below for chew tools that are long/slender enough to reach the back molar area.  Tooth grinders should also click on this category (tooth grinding usually happens mostly with the back teeth).

Other people prefer chewing/nibbling with their front teeth.  For front teeth chewing, there's an even wider variety of chews to “chews” from.  For back teeth chewing, you need something long and slender enough to reach the back molars.  Whereas any chew tool can be reached with the front teeth.  Click on the Front Teeth category below for the next steps.

BACK TEETH

All of the chews in this category have an extension that’s long and slender enough to reach the back molars.  That’s where chewing is usually needed the most, and where you’ll get the most sensory input to the jaw.

We always recommend starting with the standard level, unless the person chews through / causes damage to things they currently chew on (chews holes in shirts, chews through pencils, etc.).  In that case the tougher XT (“Extra Tough”) level will likely hold up to that better.  

XXT (“Extra Extra Tough”) is usually the longest lasting level for avid chewing.  But, XXT is fairly rigid, so we only recommend starting off with XXT if you know you / your child chews likes chewing on pretty tough items, or can chew through pretty tough items (like legos, hard plastic toys, wood, etc.).  

FRONT TEETH

The Krypto-Bite and Chew Tags are usually the most discreet options, and both come in neutral grey tones.  If you / your child doesn’t like wearing anything around the neck, try one of the bracelets, handheld chews, or pencil toppers (necklaces can also be tied through a zipper pull or button hole instead of being worn around the neck).  

The Dino-Bite, Super Star, Basketball, and Ring are usually the longest lasting chew necklace options for avid chewers (they’re the thickest/widest pendants).  The Arrowhead and Chew Tags are the thinnest options at .3”.  

The textured options are sensory-seeker favorites.  Looking for the largest necklace?  The Bite Saber is the longest at 4” long.  Not sure which one to get?  When in doubt, go with the Krypto-Bite - it’s a crowd pleaser that’s popular with both boys and girls, kids and adults.
